A More Powerful Hybrid Option
While the focal point of hybrid vehicles is typically their fuel economy, many of the newer models have been designed to produce just as much power. The 2020 RAV4 Hybrid is expected to push the envelope.
Can you expect great gas mileage and fewer stops at the pump? Certainly! The combination of a 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an efficient electric motor will make for a delightfully fuel-conscious pairing. Power gets a big boost out of this outfit too, though.
With the combined force of each component, you end up with 219 net HP. Not only is this more than the 194 HP of the previous generation’s RAV4 Hybrid, it’s also more than the 203 HP of the standard 2019 RAV4.
2020 RAV4 Hybrid: Made for Off-Road Adventure
A big benefit that a hybrid crossover has over a hybrid sedan is just how off-road ready it is. A larger wheelbase, more ground clearance, and an overall bigger chassis mean that your car is better equipped for the sometimes-rocky roads less traveled.
The 2020 RAV4 Hybrid is made for even more adventure with a standard all-wheel drive system expected on every trim. All-wheel drive is ideal for maintaining added traction and reducing wheelspin on slippery or loose, rocky roads. You can handle all types of weather with confidence.
What’s more, you can change your drive mode depending on conditions to elicit the most suitable drive response possible. A sport mode, for example, adjusts the transmission and throttle mapping to give you an extra kick when you step on the accelerator. Eco mode and EV mode are also available for fuel-saving or no-fuel driving options, respectively.
Smart Safety Comes Standard
The 2020 RAV4 Hybrid, like all other vehicles in the Toyota family, prioritizes passenger safety above all else. For this reason, you’ll also have Toyota Safety Sense™ standard in every model.
Toyota Safety Sense™ is a suite of driver assisting technologies that can monitor the roads around you with the help of sensors. If it senses a collision may be imminent, it can send warnings and act autonomously to help keep you safe. The included Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, for instance, can apply mild corrective steering if you veer out of your lane.
